Cassidy + Ashton gains full planning approval for mixed use redevelopment scheme at Horrockses Quarter
09/12/2011Cassidy and Ashton has gained full planning approval on behalf of its client property developer, The Brookhouse Group, for a mixed use redevelopment scheme at Horrockses Quarter.
Formerly Queens Retail Park, off Queens Street and London Road, the project incorporates: commercial units - from use classes A1-A5 inclusive; food retail store - 7,340 sq metres gross internal floor space; non-food retail store - 1,144 sq metres; car parking; and service yards, following the demolition of existing buildings.
The food store will be located on the first floor with car parking provided underneath the store and on a first floor parking deck. This arrangement allows for store frontages to around the ground floor of the store and creates a building of the scale appropriate to a city centre location.
The intention is to connect Stanley Street with Church Street through a network of streets and squares that are active, safe, welcoming and pedestrian friendly.
