The Architect, Chester
Cassidy + Ashton were appointed by Brunning & Price Ltd. in respect of planning and architecture to plan, design and build a new restaurant extension to the rear of the building in addition a refurbishment of the existing establishment. The site fell within the boundaries of the Chester City Centre Conservation area and the building and gardens were Grade II listed.
The new restaurant extension is located at the rear of the building with its main focus on the pleasant views of the gardens and down towards the Chester Racecourse. The new extensions are separated into 3 distinct elements. The ‘Ancillary’ block to the Northern side of the building which houses the kitchen and stores, the glazed link which provides a transition between the old and new buildings and the rear extension that fronts the gardens.
