C+A Team Champion Chester at Charity Triathlon
Our Chester office has made a generous donation to DIAL West Cheshire (DIAL House) after competing in a gruelling charity triathlon.
Three team members ran, cycled and swam their way over 25km to raise £1,200 for the Chester-based charity which provides a range of services to enable disabled and older people to live sustained, independent lives.
Organised by Jones Lang Lasalle and Peel Group, the JLL Property Triathlon North was held on Friday 24th July at Salford’s MediaCityUK and challenged property, construction and built environment professionals to run, cycle and swim 5k, 20k and 750m.
Entrance fees were donated to the organiser’s nominated charities, Christie Charitable Fund and the Starlight Children’s Foundation, yet Cassidy + Ashton wanted to support a cause closer to home.
Guy Evans, whose brother-in-law has received support from DIAL West Cheshire (DIAL House) for many years, said: “We’ve been based in Chester for almost ten years and wanted to do our bit to give something back to the community.
“It was a bit of a shock to the system training for the big day, but everybody’s generosity really spurred us on and we were delighted to have all crossed the finish line in one piece and, most importantly, not in last place!”
Keith Roper, chief officer at DIAL West Cheshire, added: “As a local charity with limited funds we are extremely grateful to Guy and colleagues from Cassidy + Ashton for their efforts.
“The money raised will help us to refit the kitchen in our Community Café. The kitchen is staffed primarily by disabled volunteers and the café, which is open to all, is an extremely valuable facility for disabled people and others in the local community”.
