Cassidy + Ashton earns place on two major development procurement frameworks
Architecture, planning and surveying practice Cassidy + Ashton has been appointed to two multi-million-pound procurement frameworks supporting development across the North of England over the next four years.
The firm’s building surveying team has been appointed to the North West Construction Hub (NWCH)’s £36m Consult framework until 2029. The NWCH was formed by Manchester City Council and operates a number of frameworks for public sector development work across the North West.
Cassidy + Ashton was successful in the building surveying lot, alongside several national and global consultancy organisations including AHR and Mace.
The company has also gained a place on Efficiency North’s EN:Procure Construction Consultancy Services Framework. Efficiency North brings together social housing providers across the North on areas including procurement, skills and energy.
Its £103m Gen-4 Construction Consultancy Services Framework runs until 2029 and has over 50 social housing provider members. To date, it has supported the development of over 800,000 homes across the North.
Cassidy + Ashton has been appointed in the architectural services lot.
Dave Owen, director and chartered building surveyor, Cassidy + Ashton said: “Being appointed for the first time as a supplier by NWCH, which contributes to billions of pounds of development across the North West, will be a game-changer for the team. It allows us to have conversations with new and existing clients on significant projects knowing we do not need to go through a full tender process.
“The appointment highlights our track record of consistent, high-quality surveying and that our team, which has decades of combined experience, can punch well above our weight and compete with some of the industry’s biggest and best-known names.”
Frameworks streamline the procurement process for public sector bodies, housing providers and other organisations, allowing them to access services for construction and other work without a formal tender process, while demonstrating social value and value for money.
NWCH has overseen the procurement of a range of significant cultural regeneration projects over recent years, including the £26m Factory International in Manchester and the Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot, Merseyside.
Speaking about the appointment to the EN:Procure framework, Dan Thorpe, director and architect, Cassidy + Ashton, said: “Cassidy + Ashton’s architectural team has a strong reputation for designing transformational residential developments, working with local authorities and affordable housing providers.
“Being appointed to EN:Procure will make it easier for the firm to further grow our reputation in residential regeneration projects, including across a greater geographical area in regions such as Yorkshire and Humber as well as the Midlands.”
Earlier this year Cassidy + Ashton also kept its place on the £800m national Procure Partnerships Professional Services Framework.
