Cassidy + Ashton shortlisted for planning excellence award by Royal Town Planning Institute
Cassidy + Ashton’s planning team has been shortlisted for this year’s Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Awards for Planning Excellence, which celebrates the region’s best plans, projects teams and people across the planning industry.
The team is shortlisted for Mid-size Planning Consultancy of the Year in the North West, a new category introduced for the 2025 awards, which are set to take place at the Kimpton Clocktower in Manchester on June 19.
C+A’s planning team has grown from a single member when it launched around 20 years ago to a six-strong team operating from the firm’s Preston and Chester offices, delivering projects across the North West and North Wales.
The team’s entry highlighted key innovations, as well as examples of inclusive planning and climate action in recent years. It included work on notable schemes such as Troutbeck, a £10m affordable housing development in Blackpool as well as the Xplore! Science Discovery Centre in Wrexham.
The entry also highlighted the firm’s approach to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), which has seen more than a dozen practitioners in the team progress to chartered status.
