Cassidy + Ashton has appointed Mark Slocombe to head up the principal designer service which helps our construction clients to comply with health and safety regulations.
Mark, a health and safety specialist and former ambulance paramedic, will be based at our Preston office. He will work across the teams and alongside clients and principal contractors.
As the principal designer Mark will provide advice on a wide range of major residential and commercial client projects to achieve compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM 2015). His will oversee the management of health and safety on new build schemes, refurbishment and maintenance projects across a variety of sectors.
Peter Harris, architect at our Preston office said: “The continual growth of work across all services has made it necessary to expand this important area of expertise within the practice.
“Mark’s role is to give clients and regulatory bodies the reassurance that we adhere to the strict regulations placed on the construction sector and that considerations for health and safety are at the heart of every regeneration project that we work on.”
Originally from Liverpool, Mark previously worked in the south of England but returned to the North West 18 years ago. He qualified as a principal designer in 2015.
Mark said: “It’s been such a positive start at Cassidy + Ashton. I have been overwhelmed by the friendliness across the team, it is certainly a great place to work.
“The whole team interacts and works really well together, which is very beneficial in my new role. Being the principal designer involves attending design meetings, planning meetings, project meetings and site meetings, it’s a very important responsibility and I will be kept very busy!”
