Claire first joined Cassidy + Ashton in the summer of 2012 on a work experience placement while completing her Master of Civic Design at the University of Liverpool. She returned to the practice in June 2013, taking up a permanent role, and later achieved Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute in November 2017.

In her day‑to‑day work, Claire leads on the preparation and management of a wide range of planning applications on behalf of both public and private sector clients. Her responsibilities include preparing supporting planning statements, coordinating consultant inputs, and guiding applications through the planning process to secure positive outcomes.

Claire’s project experience spans social housing schemes, major educational facilities, residential developments, listed building consents and industrial proposals. She has also played a key role in the ongoing redevelopment of the Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone, helping to implement the planning strategy aligned with the site’s Masterplan. The next phase of this work will see construction begin on a series of new employment units in 2026.

Outside of work, Claire enjoys spending time outdoors and can often be found exploring the coast or walking in the Lake District at weekends.
