He will join over 57,000 determined runners in one of the world’s biggest and best half marathons, which takes place in Newcastle and includes crossing the Tyne River over the famous Tyne Bridge.

Alban aims to raise over £1,000 for St Catherine’s Hospice from the run. The hospice cares for adults in Chorley, Preston and South Ribble who have a life-shortening condition, as well as supporting their loved ones. It provides a vital service to many families and operates solely through charitable donations and fund-raising activities.

He said: “St Catherine’s Hospice is a place that will always remain in my heart. I’m delighted to have the opportunity once again to raise funds for this very special charity, while at the same time indulging in my love of running – although my thoughts on the latter may be different by the time I reach the finishing line!”
