Dominic, who joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2019, is a specialist in virtual reality design with skills in 3D imagery and preparing detailed drawings for a variety of projects.

He supports the architectural and design team in our Preston office and also works on urban scale projects supporting the practice’s planning team and strengthening its master planning capabilities.

Since joining the practice, Dominic has played a key role in developing the practice workflow to streamline 3D output at initial design stage and is always looking at ways to improve team collaboration across the practice.

Recently Dominic took the lead on several large residential schemes including phase one of Grange Park, a £20m social housing scheme in Blackpool, and the final phase of Blackpool’s flagship Foxhall Village West site.

He has also been involved in several major education projects, notably an expansion project at Highfurlong SEND school in Blackpool. This is currently under construction and involves increasing the capacity of the award-winning school with new classrooms, as well as providing facilities including a café and hydrotherapy pool, to supplement the wellbeing of the students.

Speaking about the promotion, Cassidy + Ashton chairman Alistair Baines said: “The appointment to associate is due reward for Dominic’s hard work and commitment in helping to deliver a challenging and varied portfolio of projects over the last few years since he first joined the practice.

“Dominic’s all-round architectural ability and his positive attitude both with the team and with our growing client base, makes him a valuable addition to the senior management team at Cassidy + Ashton.”

Dominic has a Master of Architecture from Manchester School of Architecture and completed the RIBA Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture in 2020 to gain his chartered status.

Dominic added: “I’m thrilled to be promoted to associate at Cassidy + Ashton and grateful for the opportunity to take on new challenges and contribute towards the growth of the practice. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop our architectural vision and manage projects as they progress from concept through to completion.

“Becoming an associate is a great milestone in my career and I see it as recognition for my role

within the team to bring our projects from concept to reality. Being part of the senior management team will help me to establish and embellish my client-facing responsibilities as I look to develop existing and create new professional relationships for the practice.”
