Tilston Primary School
Last month Cassidy + Ashton handed over a large multipurpose hall at Tilston Primary School, Cheshire. Along with the new hall, the scheme included new pupil and staff toilets, new cloakrooms and storage facilities, a new servery connecting to the refurbished existing kitchen, refurbished staff room and new head teacher’s office.
As part of the £600,000 project, a new infant classroom with toilets and cloaks store had previously been handed over to the school in February half term.
The two extensions have been designed to be sympathetic to the existing school in terms of scale and appearance. The elevational treatment of the extensions was designed to contrast with, yet complement the existing buildings. Both extensions have a large feature glazed wall, maximising natural daylight into the spaces.
