The Lotus School located on Langdale Road, Blackpool, caters for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in purpose-built accommodation.
The school includes independent living areas called ‘Life Experience Flats’ designed along with two specialist outdoor spaces.
The school building includes six main classrooms, as well as a science lab, food technology lab, art and design rooms, a music space and sports hall.
The new building designed by Cassidy + Ashton incorporates modern construction techniques and includes ample natural lighting to engender a positive learning environment.
The school entrance offers an open welcoming feel to the building with views down the wide hallway to classrooms and learning areas. The generous working spaces are designed to cater for the pupils’ specific needs.
“Cassidy + Ashton helped us to create a learning environment that meets not only the academic, but also the social and emotional needs of our learners.”
